This property was donated to Five Rivers Conservation Trust in 2003. The property is part of what was once an extensive holding of the Sweatt family east of Gould Hill in Hopkinton. The donor, Nancy Sweatt, had retired to the south and wanted to ensure that her property was preserved forever as un-developed open space. She decided to entrust Five Rivers with this responsibility.
The property is entirely forested with a mix of white pine, hemlock, red oak and maple, and has been used as a woodlot and for producing maple syrup. A brook and riparian wetland area crosses the property, which attracts wildlife such as deer and moose. The property also protects the scenic qualities of 800 feet of undeveloped frontage on Old Stage Coach Road.
